Logo Design for a Seamstress Business
Client & Project Brief
A new small business owner approached me for a custom logo design to represent their brand as a seamstress. They wanted a logo that felt personal, creative, and inviting, reflecting their passion for sewing while incorporating their love for cats. Additionally, they had a strong preference for a colour palette featuring yellow and purple.
The Challenge
The key challenge was to create a design that seamlessly blended the craft of sewing with the playfulness of cats, while maintaining a professional yet charming aesthetic. The logo needed to be versatile enough for use across various branding materials, from business cards to fabric labels.
The Process
- Concept Development – I started by sketching different ideas in Procreate on my iPad, exploring ways to integrate sewing elements (such as needles, threads, and fabric) with cat imagery.
- Refinement – After reviewing multiple sketches, I refined the design into a stylised illustration of a cat interacting with a sewing thread, ensuring it was both recognisable and unique.
- Colour Exploration – I created two versions of the final design, one in yellow and one in purple, to align with the client’s preferred colour palette.
- Final Selection – After reviewing both versions, the client ultimately chose the yellow design, as it best captured the warm and inviting feel they wanted for their brand.
Outcome
The final logo successfully represents the seamstress’s craftsmanship and personality, creating a memorable and cohesive brand identity. The client was thrilled with the result, and the logo is now being used across their business materials, adding a professional yet personal touch to their brand.
